I invited 33 strangers to my 33rd birthday.
Yes - you see that right.
No - I am not crazy.
I literally asked people on the street if they wanted to come to my party. :)
The event was designed to help others to connect with one another through fun and expansive activities.
I’ve always been really inspired by YouTube videos in which the YouTubers ask strangers on the street for challenges, and they have a blast and become friends for life.
What really inspired me was the possibility of being rejected by talking to strangers, while on the other side, was this exciting possibility of them saying YES to an unusual invite and trusting the unknown to co-create a beautiful time together.
I like to think that, whenever a stranger says yes, it’s because they believe the world can be better. Humans can be kind. Strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet.
And I think that’s such a beautiful affirmation. :)
So this year, I decided to be THAT person to create an experience like that.
I created question prompts that are designed to drop people from their heads to their hearts.
Instead of asking: “what do you do?”, I created prompts such as “who in your life are someone you can say that love you unconditionally?”
I splitted them into groups to experience activities that foster connection among and within themselves.
The evening was magical :)
I invited 33 strangers for my 33rd birthday party. 32 of us showed up as strangers and left as friends.
Our world needs more spaces like this that are safe for us to be ourselves.
Our world needs spaces that changes the perspective of the world that this is a dangerous and ugly place.
Be on the lookout for future events on the website. :)
With love,
